Join us in Scotland’s offshore wind capital for the first in our series of intimate gatherings bringing together foundation design engineers, offshore wind developers, marine contractors, and senior experts in the offshore renewables sector.

Foundation Ex Connect features lively technical talks, thought provoking Q&A and friendly networking all in the Foundation Ex spirit of sharing knowledge and pushing our industry forward.

Format: Short talks and Q&A followed by plenty of time for networking. Food and drink provided.

Donna Sutherland

Donna Sutherland

Head of Commercial | Veri Energy

.

Donna has worked in the energy industry for over two decades with a background in large
capital project delivery, strategic business development and commercial.

As part of a small team, Donna founded Veri Energy which is leading the
transformation of the Sullom Voe Terminal in Shetland into Europe’s largest energy hub with
a focus on renewable power and e-fuels to decarbonise hard to abate industries.
Donna has extensive experience in subsea project delivery, decommissioning, renewables,
thermal power generation, power networks, carbon and the energy regulatory landscape.

Donna is a Vice President of the Scottish Energy Forum and is a Visiting Professor for the Centre for Energy Policy at the University of Strathclyde.

Foundations Design Package Manager | Ocean Winds

Rui graduated in Civil Engineering from the University of Porto (Portugal) and has been working on marine-related topics since 2009, with the last nine years focused on offshore wind projects.

He has experience across consultancies, contractors, and developers, including the construction of Taiwan’s first offshore wind farm.

In 2022, he joined Ocean Winds as part of the foundations team, overseeing fabrication, transport and installation activities for the project.

He later moved to the Caledonia project team, where he is currently responsible for the foundation design package.

Alan Evans

Alan Evans

Senior Project Manager | Dogger Bank Wind Farm

Alan has almost 20 years of experience in engineering and project management across the design, construction and commissioning phases of large capital infrastructure projects, including offshore and onshore wind farms and hydro developments.

A Chartered Engineer, Alan graduated in 2002 before completing a postgraduate MSc in Engineering Project Management at the University of Strathclyde in 2015.

He has held a number of senior roles on Dogger Bank Wind Farm, including ESI Package Manager and Marine Package Manager, as well as Head of Engineering for Design and Delivery with SSE Renewables. He is currently Senior Project Manager at Dogger Bank, where he leads the strategic delivery of the ESI and Marine Package across all phases of the project.
